How Many Years does it take to Study Engineering in Nigeria?

 4 and 3 Years Engineering Courses Offered in Nigeria

Undergraduate Degree: It takes a maximum of five years to study any engineering course in Nigeria and a minimum of 4 years for an undergraduate program in engineering.

Direct Entry Undergraduate Program: Engineering courses studied through direct entry in Nigeria takes between 3 to 4 years. But at first, the students must complete a 1 to 2 years pre-degree program on the related course before applying.

Engineering Diploma: Engineering Courses in Nigerian polytechnics will take 2 years for the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and another two years for the Higher National Diploma (HND).

Postgraduate: All Engineering Masters and other postgraduate programs in Nigeria take a minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 2 years.

3 Years Engineering Courses through Direct Entry

All Engineering Courses in Nigeria through direct entry are 3 to 4 years in Nigeria. But at first, the students must complete a 1 to 2 years pre-degree program on the related course before applying.

If the student has a pre-degree (ND, JUPEB, IJMB, NCE, ICAN), he or she can apply through the Direct Entry Program of their aspired school.

Now, if the school accepts you, then you are going to start from year 2 (level 200) thereby shortening one year from the program year.
