Why You May Not Get into A German University with a Low GPA

If you have tried the above and still get rejected by any German university for a master’s, then the following could be the causes;

1. Consider the Program you applied for:

If you apply for one of those competitive master’s degree programs then your chance of getting in will be narrowed especially with a low GPA.

2. German Language proficiency:

The next thing to consider is if you actually met the language proficiency for your program. This is very important for courses that are taught fully or partially in German.

3. How good is your CV and Cover letter?

Cover letter and CV are some of the compulsory admission requirements as long as German universities are concerned.

Inability to present your Cover letter or CV in the recommendable and acceptable format may result in a rejection.

4. Application Procedures: one important point to note when applying for admission is that each school has its admission procedures that must be followed.

So if your application did not follow the recommended application procedures stated for your program, you might get rejected.

5. Did you meet the entry requirements?

Although some universities may accept low GPAs, many others may recommend that you have a good GPA before you can be accepted.

Apart from the GPA, applicants must always meet every or a higher percentage of listed entry requirements to be eligible for admission.

My program was food quality control & microbiology.

Hey Hana… Sorry about your life experiences.
Now, you can apply to almost any German University of your choice but here is what will happen;

To undergo a postgraduate program in Germany you will need to provide the study documents from your undergraduate degree program. At all German Universities, they have International office for International students. This International Office at German institutions are there to help international students by making sure that they are academically qualified to study in Germany.

If it happens that you are not qualified, then you will be advised to take a 1-2 years Postgraduate Diploma program to boost your academic qualification.. Best of luck💓

Your Master’s degree supercedes your Bachelor’s degree. So if you achieve better in your masters, then you have good chances of getting a good job.
