- Score at least 180 scores in JAMB
- Must write Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and English in JAMB

Is it Hard to Gain Admission to Study Engineering in Nigeria?
The simple answer to this question is No!!!
In Nigeria, engineering courses are very competitive with so many applicants every year but yet, gaining admission into any engineering course is always simple.
Statistically, about 20 to 30% of JAMB candidates chose engineering courses every year. But the truth is, engineering courses are very easy to gain admission in.
For example, the chances of gaining admission into an engineering course with a 180 to 200 JAMB score in a reputable university in Nigeria are high.
Meanwhile, for other courses like Medicine and Surgery, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, biochemistry, etc., an applicant will need at least 240 to 300 to gain admission to competitive universities.
Even some other science, Arts, and commercial courses like communication arts (Mass Com), Microbiology, Marketing, etc., might be tougher to gain admission into compared to engineering courses.
Tracing that effectively, we realize that about an average of engineering JAMB candidates don’t score above higher than 190 to 220 in JAMB.
Reasons for such performance may be traced to mathematics and maybe, that could be one of the reasons why even candidates with at least 180 – 190 get admitted easily.

Why are these Engineering Courses Listed as the Easiest to Gain Admission
Kindly note that listing any course here as one of the less competitive engineering courses in Nigeria doesn’t mean there are not professional, valuable, and lucrative.
Some of the outstanding reasons why these courses are listed as less competitive engineering courses are:
People Don’t Know Much about them: the truth is, a lot of applicants still stick to popular engineering courses like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, petroleum engineering, etc.
As a result, they limit their potentials and refuse to focus on other courses with great opportunities and wide fields of application.
In that case, they saturate such courses and make it more difficult to gain admission due to a huge number of applicants.
Performances: if the general performance of JAMB candidates that apply for any course is low, then the chances of gaining admission in that course with a low score become higher.
