What You Should Know About SAT in Nigeria

SAT is an acronym for SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT TEST. It is an international entrance examination that is very similar to the Nigerian Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam.

Who is Qualified to Take SAT in Nigeria? The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) exam is mainly for Nigerian students that wish to apply and study abroad in advanced countries like the U.S.A, Canada, etc.

Currently, there are no Universities, Polytechnics, or Colleges within Nigeria that accept SAT as an entry exam for Undergraduate or Postgraduate admission.

Is SAT Exam Taken in Nigeria?

The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is an approved and fully administered exam in Nigeria for students who wish to undergo their undergraduate studies abroad.

The commonly administered SAT Exams in Nigeria are SAT 1 and SAT 2. According to the 2022 report, this exam is administered about three (3) to seven(7) times every year.

Applicants are free to register for the test at any time for any batch that is convenient to them as long as the date for the registration is still open.

Where Can I Write SAT in Nigeria?

There are about 14 known states in Nigeria with approved SAT centers that you can write the SAT exam in Nigeria. So applicants are free to register and write SAT in any of these centers.

How Much is SAT Registration Fee in Nigeria 2022?

How Much Does SAT Cost in Nigeria? The SAT Registration fee and the cost of the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) registration in Nigeria in 2022 is Sixty Five Thousand Naira (N65,000) Naira only.

SAT Exam Pattern/Format

The SAT exam It is a written paper based-pencil test that is mostly meant to evaluate the student’s language and mathematical reasoning skills.

Furthermore, the SAT exam is divided into four sections which are:

  1. Reading
  2. Writing
  3. Language
  4. Math

Requirements for SAT Registration in Nigeria 2022

If you are applying for the College Board SAT from Nigeria, then the following are the requirements for SAT registration in Nigeria:

  • Registration fee of Sixty Five Thousand Naira (N65,000) Naira.
  • Valid international passport for identification
  • Valid email and phone number
  • Correct information of the applicant

How to Register SAT in Nigeria 2022, Online Portal and Offline Registration

Note: it is advisable to register for the SAT exam online via the official SAT registration portal shown below or at approved centers, to avoid being scammed by fake agencies.

Online Registration Instructions

General Registration Information

In this section, the applicant is to fill in the following personal information:

  • First name: enter your first name as used in your documents
  • Middle initial: fill in your middle name
  • Last name: enter your surname as used in your documents
  • Gender: Select if you are male, female, or otherwise.
  • Select Your Date of birth (Day, Month, and Year)
  • Email address: fill in your email address
  • Confirm email address: reenter your email for confirmation

High/Secondary Information

Under this section, you have to select/fill in your Secondary/High school graduation (or equivalent) information.

  • High school graduation: select your high school graduation month and year
  • Zip/postal code: in this section, tick the option “⬜Outside the U.S.
  • Where do you go to school?: If your school is not listed or if you are not currently in Secondary School, tick the option ⬜ I am no longer in high school/My school is not listed”

Filling Your Account Information

In this section, you are required to fill in all the details that will be associated with your College Board Account.

  • Username: enter the name you wish to use as your username
  • Password: fill in a secured password
  • Confirm password: reenter the same password for confirmation
  • Choose security question: click the drop-down icon and select any question you wish
  • AnsIr: in the ansIr section, fill in the correct ansIr to the question you selected as shown in the image below

Personal/Residential Information

  • Under Personal Information, tick ⬜Outside the U.S.”
  • Enter about two or three of your addresses in the form of “Address line 1, Address line 2, and Address line 3”.
  • City: enter the name of your city
  • Postal Code: enter the postal/zip code of your town
  • Region/Province: Enter your state
  • Country: Select the name of your country from the list of the countries
  • Mobile Number: enter your valid phone number

Recommended: make sure you tick the box that reads ⬜Check if you to Get text messages from the College Board”.

That will enable the College Board to send you early notice to remind you of your test dates, deadlines, and scores, and direct you to free college planning resources.

To stop receiving such notifications, kindly text STOP to 70801 as SMS and you will stop receiving notifications.

Parent Information

The parent information section gives the applicant the access to fill in their parents’ information that will help the College Board to send important reminder emails to the applicant’s parent.

This will help the parents to keep the applicant updated and remind him or her of the important information about the exam. Below is the information needed for this section.

  • Parent first name: enter your parent’s first name here
  • Parent last name: fill in your parent’s last name here
  • Parent email address: fill in the valid and accessible email of your parent
  • Confirm parent’s email address: reenter your parent’s email for confirmation

Submission of Application

Step 1: After filling up the above information correctly, tick the box ⬜ I agree with the Terms & Conditions” to accept the College Board’s terms and conditions.

Step 2: Click on “Next” to complete your application and proceed

Important: If you are using a public computer (like computers in Cyber Café) to register, make sure you avoid or disable the autofill setting on your browser to prevent the browser from auto-filling available details that may not be yours.

Finally, make sure you cross-check the information you provided in the application form and make sure they are correct, and complete before you submit your application.

SAT Registration Deadline/Closing Date in Nigeria 2022

All SAT registration deadlines in Nigeria expire at 11:59 p.m. ET, and the applicant is expected to submit all requirements before then.

SAT 1 is the normal SAT exam that includes Writing ,Reading and Mathematics…
