Scoring lower than expectation is one of the most common issues that JAMB candidates do face often.
In fact, about 60% of JAMB candidates always feel discouraged whenever they see their result, knowing that their Score is lower than their expected Score.
But that shouldn’t be a problem if you know what to do. So if you’ve lost hope that you cannot be accepted in a university because you have a low JAMB score, then you do not need to bother any longer.
Fortunately, they are good federal, state and private universities that accept candidates with low JAMB scores.
So in today’s article, I will be listing out those universities that accept candidates with low JAMB score.
What Score is Considered as Low JAMB Score?
For some popular and competitive universities, any JAMB score below 180 is considered a low JAMB score.
For private universities and other universities that are not very popular, any JAMB score below 150 is considered low. Meanwhile some state and private universities also admit students with 150 and above.

Why do Some Universities Accept low JAMB Score?
One of the outstanding reasons why most universities accept low JAMB score is because they do not have much applicants and hence will not want to loose the available candidates that choose them because of low JAMB score.
Applying for a competitive course in a competitive university makes you stand a chance of gaining admission as compared to applying to a competitive university for a less competitive course.
Also, applying for a less competitive course in a less competitive university will even make you stand a better chance of gaining admission even with a low a JAMB score.
Sadly, many candidates that are seeking for admission with low JAMB scores make the mistake of applying for a competitive course like law or medicine and sometimes, in a competitive university which is not possible..
