I have finally rounded up the list of 86 federal, state and private Universities that are not under ASUU in Nigeria in 2023. This is an updated list.

Nowadays, searching for the universities that are not under ASUU in Nigeria is very important since ASUU strike has become a routine.

Year in year out, we hear of ASUU strike and unfortunately, it is usually students that suffer the consequences of the action.

Who are we to blame? Is it the Academic Staff Union of Universities that are fighting for their right, or is it the Federal Government that is paying deaf ears to the educational sector.

Well, let’s keep that aside. But I am very sure you will not want to make a mistake of choosing a school under ASUU and if you have done that already, then hang around and expect the best to come.

Now to the business!

Are all Universities under ASUU?

No!

For the fact that ASUU stands for Academic Staff Union of Universities doesn’t implies that all universities in Nigeria are under ASUU.

In fact, I have overhead some students argue this over and over and I have heard some oversabi shouting loud that all Nigerian universities are under ASUU.

Also, I have seen some blogs updating that all federal and state universities are under ASUU, but this information are false and misleading.

Which UNI is not under ASUU?

First of all, all private universities in Nigeria are not under ASUU, not even one of them.

Secondly, some well known and popular state universities are not under ASUU and lastly, some universities that were under ASUU has pulled out of the Union.

How many institutions are under ASUU?

The number of universities in Nigeria that are under ASUU is not certain. This is because some universities are pulling out of the Union while some are joining.

Meanwhile, all government owned universities in Nigeria are under ASUU while some state universities are also under ASUU.

Is State Universities Under ASUU?

Some state universities are under ASUU while some are not. Recently many of the state universities that were under ASUU have pulled out of the Union.

Meanwhile, not all state universities are under ASUU and it is not mandatory that a state university must be under ASUU.

Federal Universities that are not Under ASUU in 2023

All federal University in Nigeria are under ASUU since ASUU is a federal constituted body that is aimed at protecting the interest of public/government owned universities in Nigeria.

That means that, all government owned universities in Nigeria are under ASUU and are affected by any ASUU strike.

State universities that are not under ASUU in 2023

Although we are still piling up the list, the following are the recent and updated list of state universities in Nigeria that are not under ASUU.
